Sam Sokol is the Times of Israel's political correspondent. He was previously a reporter for the Jerusalem Post, Jewish Telegraphic Agency and Haaretz. He is the author of "Putin’s Hybrid War and the Jews" and the winner of the 2015 B'nai B'rith Word Center Award for Excellence in Diaspora Reportage.

His reporting has appeared in Tablet, The Forward, The Kyiv Post, Open Democracy, Foreign Policy and Columbia Journalism Review, among other publications.

A native New Yorker, Sam moved to Israel in 2005, where he served two years in the IDF before entering journalism. He lives with his wife and children in the Jerusalem suburb of Bet Shemesh.
